Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)
NCS measures the speed and strength of electrical signals as they travel along a nerve. This test is essential for diagnosing conditions that affect the peripheral nervous system.
Commonly used for diagnosing:
-
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
-
Cubital Tunnel Syndrome
-
Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome
-
Peripheral Neuropathy
-
Sciatica and other nerve entrapments
-
Guillain-Barré Syndrome
Electromyography (EMG)
EMG evaluates the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. It can detect abnormal muscle activity that may be a sign of nerve damage, muscle disease, or other neuromuscular disorders.
Commonly used for diagnosing:
-
Radiculopathy (pinched nerve in the spine)
-
Myopathy (muscle disease)
-
Myasthenia Gravis
-
Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)
-
Polymyositis and Dermatomyositis
-
Muscular Dystrophy

Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (EP)
Somatosensory Evoked Potentials (SSEP): Measures the nerve conduction from the limbs to the brain in response to electrical stimulation. Used to assess sensory nerve function and diagnose conditions like spinal cord injuries or multiple sclerosis.
